Anonymous asked: Just being curious, who exactly are you? How old are you and what sort of real life experience do you have?
My name is Joscelyn, I’m 25, and isn’t any experience considered “real life experience”, since it’s really happening in your life? Sorry for the vague answer; your question is sort of vague… What is it you want to know about me?

I’m having fruit salad for dinner. Kind of. It’s mostly grapes. Ok, it’s all grapes. Fermented grapes. It’s wine. I’m having wine for dinner. (at Gusto 101)
I work with some stand-up men! Surprise flowers at the office or International Women’s Day 💚
I got a funny barista at @Starbucks, who was DETERMINED to get my name right… Maybe next time! (at Starbucks)

Everybody’s got a story that could break your heart… —
I can’t even begin to try to explain to someone who has no experience dealing with a mental illness what it’s like to try to live a balanced day-to-day life, while struggling with your own demons.
Whether you yourself are dealing with a mental disorder, or you’ve witnessed a loved one suffering through a mental illness, I can tell you that the toll it takes on your life can be excruciating.
Doctors don’t always agree, medications don’t always make it better, and people don’t understand; there are numerous reasons why so many suffer in silence.
Today, I hope that the silence is broken, even if it’s only for a short time, and that together, we can admit that the negative social stigma that surrounds mental illness needs to be reevaluated and overthrown.
My story is different from your story, and your story is different from his story, and his story is different from her story, but one thing is prevalent in all of our stories: living with a mental illness does not make anyone any less human, any less deserving of a good life, and it should not be a reason to discredit feelings, accomplishments or goals.
Whether you make your own experiences public, or simply make yourself available to listen to someone’s story, please take the time today to actively participate in at least one discussion about mental illness. You may be surprised to learn that the woman you look up to in the office suffers from bipolar disorder, or that the prince charming you’re currently dating suffered suicidal thoughts while he was in college. You may learn that the coach of your favorite sports team has a schizophrenic daughter, or that the retired police officer that lived next door to you while you were growing up (and always gave out the best Halloween candy) suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder.
Every time you use the hashtag #BellLetsTalk on Twitter today, Bell will donate 5¢ to mental health programs, regardless of your service provider. Please, do your part, and join the conversation. Let’s talk. http://tw.letstalk.bell.ca
Let’s talk today, but better yet… let’s continue this discussion tomorrow.
Found the most amazing Valentine in my mailbox a few days early! Too funny…

If I ever get married, I pray to God the guy knows me well enough to propose this way! Amazing 💙
‘Cause maybe you’re loveable,
and maybe you’re my snowflake.
And your eyes turn from green to grey…
In the winter I’ll hold you in a cold place.
And you should never cut your hair,
‘cause I love the way you flick it off your shoulder.
And you will never know,
just how beautiful you are to me,
but maybe I’m just in love when you wake me up.
